HEY TRY THIS!
ūüćϬ†Are¬†you struggling to fire one or both of your glutei med? ¬†Me too! My left one gives me a hard time, and it's not without consequence. It contributes to a¬†hip shift and it causes inappropriate muscles to compensate, which leads to pain, spasm, and tightness.
FIGHT BACK WITH ISOMETRICS: next time you use the hip abductor ("bad girl") machine at the gym, try doing isometric holds. You are doing it right if you feel a lot of heat in the glutei med muscle. I hold throughout various ranges of the movement. Once I feel my glutei med firing, I do reps through the full range of motion until I feel like I'm going to burst into flames.
Do not hold your breath! Do nasal breathing (inhale nose, exhale nose).

HIP FLEXOR CHALLENGE!!!
I like this challenge because it makes it easy to identify which hip flexor is weaker, plus it helps us fix this imbalance. The psoas is more important than we think: after all, it connects the upper body to the lower body. Here's my tip: don't forget to activate your glutes and really squeeze your quads to straighten your knee (it helps!!!).

NASAL BREATHING CHALLENGE
CHALLENGE: next time you climb stairs or go for a brisk walk, only breathe through your nose (inhale and exhale through your nose, keep your mouth shut).
Nasal breathing will calm you down (it activates your parasympathetic nervous system) ... it's like a warm hug from your grandma. I've been applying this to my jogs, sandbag carries, stair climbing, and bodybuilding workouts. It's helped me improve my performance! Try it and #JustCalmDown!

Calm your Stomach & Burn Fat
Ginger: The "Universal Remedy"
Inflammation leads to weight gain and is a major contributor to pretty much all chronic illness. The anti-inflammatory effects of ginger are very strong!
There are also many gastroprotective effects of ginger ... I like to use it to help with constipation, bloating and nausea.
I use a spoon to peel the skin off the ginger and I add it to my stir-fry, or I steep it in a cup of hot water to make delicious ginger tea. I've actually become a fan of just eating ginger all by itself (yeah, I'm savage like that!). Next time you are at the grocery store, get ginger!
