Home Workout #47: TRX Total Body HiiT

Home Workout #47: TRX Total Body HiiT

TRX:

Today's Workout is a 20 minute Total Body HiiT Workout that uses the TRX Suspension Trainer.

The TRX is perfect for home and hotel room workouts because it's portable. You can even use it outside!

With the TRX, you use your bodyweight to create muscle-building resistance.

Video Workout

Keep this circuit mega-INTENSE; otherwise, you are not going to benefit from metabolism-boosting effects of HIIT. Maximize fat-burning by doing this workout fasted as soon as you wake up …  and stay fasted for at least 2 hours after the workout (you can drink your BCAAs). Increase the intensity by adjusting your body position to increase or decrease the resistance. Remember, you want resistance because resistance builds muscle, and muscle burns calories! The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn.

Set your timers for 20 minutes. MINIMIZE YOUR REST PERIODS BETWEEN EXERCISES (~10 seconds).  The goal is to do as many rounds as possible (AMRAP) in 20 minutes. Try to do 2 rounds if you are a beginner. I was able to do 3 rounds in 20 minutes (I sipped my BCAAs between the rounds). Remember not to do more than 30 minutes because you want to keep the intensity HIGH.

Round (Cycle):

  1. Back Rows (15 reps)
  2. Jump Squats (15 reps)
  3. L Single Leg Squats (10 reps)
  4. R Single Leg Squats (10 reps)
  5. Rear Deltoid Flys (15 reps)
  6. Suspension Push-up and Pike (10 reps) --> I found this really challenging!
  7. Kneeling Roll Outs (15 reps)

  6. I get up at 4:15am to get ready for work at 6am and I have no time to workout early in the morning. So, I do my workout after work at UFC gym. Since I watched your videos, I do not have to go to UFC gym and workout for an hour or two. Can I do your exercise videos after work instead in the morning? Thank you!
