Does YOUR Colon need a Cleansing?
The colon is designed to remove solid waste from the body. Eating lots of fiber (whole grains, fresh veggies/fruit) and drinking plenty of water will keep things moving along. Regularity varies from person to person, but can be anything from 3 bowel movements a day, to 3 bowel movements a week. As long as everything is moving along nicely, then NO, you do not need to undergo colon cleansing.
I recently took antibiotics, which killed both the good and bad bacteria in my gut. Guess what happened next? I become severely constipated. My belly was protruding severely. I looked pregnant!
- Bacteria give your stools the properties needed (ie. softness & moisture) to pass through your intestinal tract with ease.
- When these bacteria are missing (ie. because of a recent course of antibiotics), your stools become hard and dry.
- Hard and dry stools are difficult to pass, resulting in constipation.
- Constipation is typically accompanied by bloating and abdominal discomfort.
I needed relief! My doctor recommended I try colon hydrotherapy.
What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as a colonic, removes waste from the colon, without the use of drugs. Warm filtered water gently flows into the colon, softening waste and stimulating the colon's natural peristaltic action.
I did not find it to be painful. A small disposable speculum was gently inserted only a couple of inches into the rectum. The most I felt was a bit of cramping. The entire session lasted ~45 minutes.
I felt immediate relief following my session. My belly bloat disappeared by the time I got home. I also lost 5 pounds. Yes, I had collected 5 pounds of impacted fecal matter! Gross!
Remember: a colonic may help you drop weight, but it will not help you drop fat! There is a difference between the two! If you want to drop fat, then Click here to subscribe to my Free Intermittent Fasting Tutorials!
Colon Hydrotherapy removes both unhealthy and healthy bacteria. It's important to replace the "good" bacteria in your colon by taking probiotics after your colonic for at least 30 days.
